Portugal, a wonder in Europe

Portugal, a wonder in Europe - 4 fabulous destinations
x

Portugal is located on the Iberian Peninsula, in the extreme southwest of Europe and includes the archipelagos of Madeira and Azores, located in the northern hemisphere in the Atlantic Ocean.
Portugal is, without a doubt, one of the cheapest countries in Europe. If you deviate from the tourist areas, the prices go down significantly. The purchases are basically in the markets, where you can find popular towels, dishes, and utensils, as well as clothes, quality shoes at affordable prices.
A pleasant climate and 850 kilometers of wonderful beaches bathed by the Atlantic Ocean make Portugal the perfect destination to enjoy at all seasons. This country has managed to merge the beauty of its paradisiacal beaches and its cosmopolitan cities with a rural and traditional interior for what is known as "the garden by the ocean".

Lisbon
Its capital is also the most populated city. It has magnificent beaches just a short train ride away, which means that a visit to Lisbon can be both a beach holiday and an urban getaway. Lisbon is a suitable destination for all types of tourists, whether families, young couples or more mature travelers. Lisbon is a perfect destination for a wonderful holiday, it is a great vibrant and varied city, with a liberal character, but which nevertheless does not forget its heritage or its past. It is a city full of large squares that open onto narrow cobbled streets, crossed everywhere by the picturesque network of its particular trams.

Oporto
The beautiful coastal city is one of the most visited in Europe, it is the second most important city, considered as the Portuguese "Capital of the North", with world fame due to the Oporto, its sweet and particular alcoholic beverage, which is linked with the fortunes and history of Oporto, and continues to be stored in the formidable cellars that extend along the banks of the Douro River. Oporto tasting tours are a seductive way to become an expert in this delicious drink, which can be savored in the many bars that stretch along the scenic river in front of the city.
Oporto offers beautiful churches, imposing historical buildings and pleasant pleasure cruises along the Douro River. If your intention is to spend a longer holiday in Oporto, the city has some beautiful beaches and offers many interesting day trips, all easily accessible by train.

Lagos
It is located on the Algarve coastline, it mixes a sociable and very lively urban center around a historic center.
Lagos offers an admirable selection of wonderful beaches, among them, Praia de Dona Ana, considered the most picturesque beach in Portugal.
Continuing along the coast are the extraordinary cliffs of Ponte Da Piedade, a succession of sandstone cliffs that have been eroded by weather conditions. The center of Lagos shows the varied history of the city, with its large stretches of the old city walls and the small fortress that protects the estuary in the port.

Lagos is a great place from which to explore the western edge of the Algarve, and among the destinations offered as day trips include Sagres, Portimão, and Silves. Lagos has a more sophisticated and suitable atmosphere for families, very much on the contrary to the tourist center of Praia de Rocha, perfect place if you want to enjoy the nightlife and parties.

Vila Nova de Milfontes
It spans the most dramatic and amazing coastline in Portugal. This small fishing village is located in the heart of the National Park of the Southwest Alentejo, which is spread by the wild and rugged coast of the West Alentejo region. The small village of Vila Nova de Milfontes awakens the adoration of the Portuguese, who turns into a bustling tourist center during their short summer holidays, while once the summer is over, the small town becomes a peaceful and welcoming destination for tourist.
As the population is oriented to attract and welcome Portuguese tourists, you can expect to find in it delicious traditional food offered with excellent value for money, with many dished made with fresh fish from the sea. Vila Nova is the least accessible of the favorite towns in Portugal, but each of its beaches, immaculate and deserted, made it simply worth the effort to reach it.
